TL;DR
Stuff piles up at home—too good to trash, too much hassle to sell. Film it, give it away, earn We Points, then spend points claiming stuff others gave. No money changes hands.

1Background & Motivation
"Everyone's got stuff they don't need. Trashing it feels wasteful. What if giving it away was as effortless as scrolling?"
The pile at home: useless to you, painful to toss, hassle to give.
List it second-hand? Photo, price, haggle, ship—the thought alone kills it.
So it gathers dust. The stuff isn't the problem; giving it away is too heavy a lift.
WeNeed tries one thing: make giving away stuff as effortless as scrolling. No money—just We Points. Give to earn, claim to spend.
2My Role
UX Design
From research to IA to the browsing, posting, and claiming flows—I drew the interactions.
UI Design
Dark feed, light grid—one visual language holding both.
Product Strategy
How We Points are earned, spent, and kept worth bothering with.
Prototyping
Hi-fi prototype; swipe, modal, and transition feel all tested there.
3Design Challenges
- Scrolling has to feel good, but not so good you forget to judge whether the thing's worth claiming.
- We Points can't inflate, and can't be so stingy no one gives. The line's thin.
- No money changes hands. Why trust a stranger? Trust has to be built into every signal.
- Scrolling video and browsing a grid are two rhythms. They have to share one product without fighting.
4Key Features I Designed
Short-Video Item Feed
Full-screen vertical swipe, same gesture as scrolling short video—the thing's right there, no tap needed to see it.
We Points Economy
Give, earn points; claim, spend points. One rule. Nobody loses, the wheel turns.
Dual Browse Modes
Don't know what you want? Scroll. Know what you want? Grid. Two rhythms, one product.
3-Step Posting
Film, describe, confirm. Three steps. Giving shouldn't be heavier than posting a moment.
"Want It!" Claiming
Tap "Want it"—the modal tells you the point cost and how it gets to you. Nothing hidden.
5Design Process
First prove the We Points loop actually spins; then use the prototype to tune the feed's feel and the trust details.
What I Learned
Borrowing a gesture everyone already knows (scrolling short video) to trigger a new behavior (giving stuff away) beats teaching from scratch. The hard part: two feelings have to land at once—the moment you give, the reward has to be instant; the moment you claim, it has to feel fair and clean. Lose either, the loop stalls.
